If the government reduces the cost of capital, it will lead to more AI use, making unemployment worse. But I expect exhaustion of energy will be the more immediate problem. Failure to ration consumption already leads to absurd outcomes like "cryptocurrency mining". Current AI is even worse.

@ It's a joke, people always talked about AI and automation like it would erase the most mundane jobs first: self driving transportation, an automatic McDonald's burger maker, self checkouts. Instead most of what I've seen is that major media companies were trying to replace writers and artists with AI where possible.
