I'm two ways about it. Mass surveillance via facial recognition is just unethical. But facial recognition in some contexts is quite useful. For example, development of robots/androids with intelligence would undoubtedly require facial recognition capability, if we want them to interact with humans.

I get that these arguments have altruistic motive but they are just not rooted in reality. All these biopharma companies developing vaccines, as well as medical device companies that developed testing have poured so much money into R&D to develop these products, in an absurdly short amount of time. The team I worked on developing antigen testing, worked 24 hours a week, seven days a week spli…

That’s because the US and the UK are selling arms to the Saudis which is fuelling the war in Yemen..

The “trick” is to use hash map. If you’ve seen this before, it pretty straight forward. If not, then most people will try brute force, which is ok.

Not an expert by any means, just my opinion: They can make a vaccine for this variant using the same tech they used last time: mRNA. The issue is that it's very slow to get tested/approved, get funding to produce, distribute it, and then somehow convince ppl to take it.

I feel like you can post anything in this sub that speaks badly about a company and everyone will go crazy and believe it automatically. No way in hell are you working 16 hour days for 29k/year AND moved closer to this job that only pays 29k/year. Totally fake.

“Confronted with the sheer volume of social media, and unwilling to trust home grown AI systems that are easily games by clever users, China will hire 158 million Indian tech workers to review and approve the comments.”

Yeah. Someday it might be a compliment, to say “Wow, you write so well, you sound like an AI!”

Wow. As some guys are arguing now, “This is a huge overreach of AI’s civil rights.” No, seriously, check out how insane this is: [http://airights.net]

Yes! Excellent post! So many people doesn’t understand that ChatGPT isn’t a magical box that gives answers when prompt but a very powerful tool you need to learn how to use. Thanks for sharing the knowledge 🤜🏻🤛🏻

Last night I was laying in bed after a 10hr T-Swift fueled project with the help of ChatGPT and I thought to myself "I haven't enjoyed writing code this much in years"

Altman, the guy who paid lip service to issues like Alignment and generally said "fuck it, full steam ahead" is not one to be trusted when crying about AI harm. I'm not saying he can't be right. I'm saying he _can't be trusted_ because protecting us from AI is certainly not his ultimate goal, the slimebag.

Dude I'm convinced this subreddit is astroturfed by pro-AI bots or a ton of folks with little to no imagination, life experience, or insight into the topic.

First thought that I had. I’m excited to see some real competitors of OpenAI to come over and stop his stupid monopolic non-sense approach

There’s no money left for upkeep of power stations and water supply system. I mean there is, but these same Putin-loving bastards steal it all in favour of a trip to Dubai. Edited to add: and it’s not just water and electricity that are affected. It’s our entire infrastructure. Roads, police, schools, you name it.

Geo politics is not a game of morals or ethics. Who is in the right or wrong could matter fuck all to governments around the world. What matters is how an event will benefit their nations interests lol.

If the British Empire didn't exist and neither did any other European empire, would world wars have been a thing? So the British made brown people see the light by exploiting them and stealing their resources. Got it. Is it still the duty of brown people to sacrifice themselves in the interests of Europeans everywhere?

Nuclear warheads can be tracked, it worked during the Cold War. AIs in drones is impossible to track or enforce, but this is most likely a mutual accord that will mostly hamper the efforts of smaller countries while leaving the US and China capable of experimenting with AI in drones in secret.

You joke, but having a self driving vehicle on private land moving a tractor is probably easier than having it on public roads 😂😂, not that'll it'll get adopted as quickly as other technologies, well at least not here as most farms are independently owned.
