It's not even a question, it's not art. It doesn't have a point to it, because it wasn't created with intention. I don't know why it's even called art, not just "ai generated images".

My problem with this is only that unless every single one of these artists used Nightshade, they delivered more useful training data to genAI. Because now there is a whole pool of different images fitting the prompt, which can help the AI learn.

Not to mention the countless films about AI adapting, gaining personality, gaining self thoughtfulness, reason, and a reason to detest their violent, aggressive, and self destructive creators, who the AI will already know that humanity will do their best to destroy them if they become an issue. I think the thing is, Alex wasn't trying to accuse ChatGPT of having feelings _just_ because it was using figures of speech. He was trying to corner it into admitting that it can lie _about_ having feelings, and therefore about being _conscious._ It was all a part of the plan.

If AI cited, even when prompt hacked, with links, it can get pretty muddy and I can see the argument that Public ally available sources are valid for training just as researchers would.

AI can be legislated/ made illegal. Art itself cannot. The better an artist you are, the more you don't need AI.

Im not even an artist, im just a consumer like all of the rest, but even so, I would hate for everything to be boiled down to dopamine and attention and algorithms. Good art has genuinely influenced the way I see my life, and it would be horrible to have that taken away.
