@Comrade1.1 You don't need money to even make paint or get paintbrushes. You can make any kind of art for free. People have been making stuff from plants, soil, rocks, bones, ashes, hair, hay, silk, bugs, almost ANYTHING. You just need to put your creative mind to it, something AI bros will never achieve.

Trying to say ai learns like a person is silly. It’s literally taking the data and just moshing it with other data. Human brains are all about abstract reinterpretation without access directly to the data.

@shawsmith5521how is it misleading ? Both the video and your statement can be true at the same time. It's just that the capabilities of AI are increasing exponentially and that development was very easy to see in the past 4 years or so.

Except you won’t be. AI art is improving every year. Maybe artists will be able to tell the difference, but the lines are so blurred already that your average person wouldnt be able to.

Agreed. We still seem to talk about AI as if it's human and intelligent. This is where we've been led into a misunderstanding of what is actually happening. I think we'll all be better off if the world in general can get a grip on how LLM and generative AI actually works.

@vixxcelacea2778I think we fundamentally agree but what I think we see differently is that craftsmanship automation on almost any level will cheapen innovation and productivity. For instance, the couch being personally customizable through a website with a lower price sounds nice. Then you buy a desk at Walmart and feel just how terribly they are built due to the factory built presets to cut cor…

You are absolutely correct. Future versions of ai will be better than anything you can imagine.

I'm a 40 y old woman and Ai creeps me out , I don't know what to believe anymore

Companies want to believe us - that AI is conscious - which is total nonsense. There is not any receptory and evaluation system which can casue any feeling inside computer

AI companies will lobby against it. It's a straight up wealth redistribution from them to the people.

This is very true. I am an engineer and we use AI. It does a very good job with mundane work, documentation etc. I have to review it, but it speeds up my work A LOT!

@KardelenKurtoglu Yes we don't even know how many people who use technology such as that to create deepfakes are in india, we know they are there but we don't know how many. Which is scary.

From my perspective as a trad. artist, digital art is basically the same thing as what I do, just that the paper is digital. I have no idea why people would ever compare AI slop to digital art, digital art requires efforts just like traditional art does, AI slop requires zero effort and actively steals from the effort of others to create.

And the counterpart, claiming real evidence as AI and not being able to tell what CP is indicative of real kids in danger.

@CavemanCrafts86 Emotions are not necessary to replicate human behavior. An AI is built by human minds. It learns by observing what we choose as inputs. It regulates itself by what parameters we choose. Even if all those are correct, there's still big limitations to the technology. AI is still a few miles off from being 100% accurate. The case in the video is an example of this.

I swear if companies actually start using Ai more than the human counterpart, we learned nothing

As a law student who just finished my course in IP law, I agree it needs to be destroyed I’m also anti-AI and while I’ll support copyright as a way to take down such abusive use, copyright needs major reform to be at all fair in any sense of the word

@Cashbans More like just call them AI image generators. "Artists" should be out of the picture for those that generate AI.

Wait, you guys are taking this seriously? Grammar errors aside it seemed like it was supposed to resemble an AI generated comment.

Yup, though I think even "prompt engineer" is over the top pretentious, it implies making a prompt is hard work rivaling that of an engineer. While I won't deny one *can* spend a lot time into writing a good prompt, a primitive one can lead to similar quality than a elaborate one. There is no 1:1 correlation of prompt effort to image quality, its more dependent on AI model, general topic etc.
