Peter doesnt understand that you cant interrupt chatgpt yet and you cant pause longer than a second or it will respond to you
This was a great video. Thank you for your thoughts on AI and for sharing your experiences with the trolling. I’m so saddened that we can’t talk about this as artists without all the hate.
I’d love to hear more from you as AI and the laws continue to develop and change in the near future, and hopefully humanity can find a positive way forward that supports artists.
The economy is all interconnected. Like a house of cards, if a few pieces (groups of people) are in real trouble, then their lack of income and demand for things will hurt the other groups, even if they are (AI safe). An unemployed engineer doesn't hire a nanny or takes a cab.
Scary! That’s why I never wanted children but you can’t escape it. My sister passed early and I had to take care of the youngest. He became mine. Found love and she has a child. A girl… what is their future. THIS? My head hurts
56:00 The "unplug the AI" argument should not be countered with how convincing they will/have become. Instead, it's the fact that AI will be integrated into EVERYTHING in our basic infrastructure, so that unplugging it amounts to nuking a huge swath of our fundamental infrastructure.
I work in IT - I always joked with co-workers that our jobs were safe until AI could replace server hardware
Crazy to me how youtube put hella AI ads into this video, I hope AI artists learn their lesson man
Jeff, it seems as if you haven’t considered how these systems currently train and work within reality models that are fundamentally different than a human. As humans, We take for granted that almost all of our natural thinking occurs within our model of reality that includes primary context to survival prioritization, continuous thinking streams (idle thinking), experiential awareness of time pas…
This helps me to understand the limitations we set on our own knowledge and belief as individuals or humans. If we can imagine the advancement of AI as such, then why haven’t we acknowledged that our own consciousness, probably as a collective consciousness, isn’t already integrated within the fabric of the cosmos and capable of co-creating today?
I mean, the obvious stigmas will follow and res…
Don’t get me wrong this is heartbreaking but the take that AI has caused this anyway is absurd. It was tumblr back in the day…. People will always find ways to engage in their thoughts, it can be a book on a particular topic, or a band, or a group of friends…. Sure AI should be a concern for parents and developing children, but it’s not responsible
It also works in reverse. You write code and ask copilot if there are any vulnerabilities and it can help you find and fix them.
Sorry, but statistically cars with humans driving are still way more dangerous and the human behind the wheel of the autonomous car still has the power to override the system so I'd say this is a large part his/her fault, did he just sit back and watch this happen?
Thank you Dan and Kim for providing the most entertaining video on Robotaxi weekend opening. Watching the other videos that show just the Robotaxi can get a bit mundane after a while but you guys have a great video
I received my PhD in CompSci in 1987 with a specialization in AI (yes, we were working on it even back then). At the time, all the AI experts were saying that (1) C3P0 in Star Wars was impossible and (2) we wouldn't have AGI in 100 years. Now, less than 40 years later we're talking about AGI in the next 2-5 years, if not sooner. What changed? Computer processing power with microprocessors running…
It's so frustrating knowing that the main reason people want driverless cars is so they can do other things on the commute instead of driving....which would be an option if we had good public transportation.
That's what people want. Someone or something else to drive the vehicle while you're a passenger, which is exactly what a bus or train is.
As the primary evangelist for AI in my company having spent COUNTLESS hours explaining this to my colleagues and helping them understand how to get better usage of the tools..... I have to say... I am bookmarking this video and just sending it to them from now on.
I'm sorry but Chat GPT is only part of the problem here. He had to have had some sort of undiagnosed trauma or mental illness to get pushed over the edge by a chat bot. RIP to this young man and I hope his family can find peace.
I think my favorite news about AI art rn is that its slowly eating itself alive because AI art is starting to pull fron other AI art.
Its amazing
In a room full of programmers, if there’s 15 and with AI here, we don’t really need 12 of those guys. Three programmers with the help of AI will be sufficient enough too complete the job.
It will not replace programmers entirely you’re right but, that field will be difficult too get into. Be careful if you’re wanting too become a programmer
This has to be the worst TED Talk I've ever seen. Using an elementary understanding of history to make broad assumptions about the future impacts of AI... it's wild he was even allowed to speak.
