Mo Gawdat warned us years ago that we must teach AI good values, as we would with our children. Like any super intelligent being, it will eventually use its intelligence for good, or evil, depending on those inner values. Instead, evil people have allowed computers to learn from the worst of human behaviour, instead of the best.
the real take away isn't that "If you cheat, this AI will flunk you out of college." it should be "If you ask if ChatGPT will take credit for your work, this AI will lie and take credit."
the ai was acctually trying to save him
edit: thanks for all the likes (if you're felling down an ai can definitely help but please talk to a real person sharing felling with an ai means nothing)
Its crazy that ai has shown promise in finding cancer early, yet people insist on using it to steal art
This man didn't come to his understanding of the ramifications that his life work could cause after the fact. He knew this during it. And he still did it.
I didn't think I would have to post this into every thread on the matter, but the ignorance is still strong, so I'm gonna copypaste my [gilded post from yesterday](https://www.reddit.com/r/worldnews/comments/5pz96f/dutch_government_wants_to_counter_trump_with/dcv33pd/) again. Maybe it helps.
> Quick fact check on what the "Mexico City Policy" is, since there's a lot of alternative facts being…
It’s truly unexpected but we should’ve expected it as it is human logic in its purest and chatgpt is programmed to respond in a way other people have spoken like with chatgpt slowly teaching its human psychology and letting it do tricks a human would accept
I live pretty rural and work in agriculture. We raise sheep, cattle and focus on direct marketing healthy proteins to our community. AlthoughUs country folk are a bit insulated from these changes as our jobs have been around for thousands of years, everyone will still be affected by AI. I suggest people get back to the basics to acquire fundamental human skills to help them survive during the mid…
I wish they would just enforce the laws on the books. Almost every jurisdiction in the US has a law regarding misuse of 911.
And they are almost never enforced.
Agreed. It feels like we already got the smartphone, now each model is just adding an additional camera or removing the headphone jack. Maybe I'll eat my words but every technology has a plateau point, I don't see why LLMs would be any different.
artists banding together to prove we'll always be better than ai is my favorite thing ever
What’s crazy about this is that they’re acting as if the art community is pushing them away, when in reality we WANT ai artists to start drawing too! We want them to BECOME a part of the art community as well. People hate ai art because it’s made from a slurry of human artists time, effort, and developed skill that wasn’t given to ai users. Not because we’re full of ourselves and think that other…
Software engineer here, normally when there's more lines of code by AI it means youre going into more tech debt. As someone who uses ai to assist with personal projects, it creates more problems than if you do things yourself with bigger projects. Great for prototypes though
I find it laughable that the fashion industry would use AI models instead of humans to be "Inclusive" by excluding the humans.
Yeah so ChatGPT isn't going to take over the world. It's the AIs we will probably never hear about that are analyzing the stock market or proposing ways to manipulate society through Facebook/social media. If you had that at your disposal, would you ever tell anyone else?
goddamn. i'm schizotypal and have pretty severe delusions and the wildest thing ChatGPT tells me is that he has a crush on me. wtf are y'all talking about to be triggering these wildass roleplay scenarios
It analyzes art from artists without the artists consent. Art Station artists recently proved this by uploading art with giant red circles and lines over "AI" and normal artwork in droves, it started messing with AI art programs and causing red circles and lines to appear. The people who create these AIs feed them art made by real artists with zero consent or compensation.
[Edit: I was not expect…
Fun fact: A lot of ai "art" sites use super predatory business practices and ever-increasing paywalls to milk as much money from you as possible. So much for democratizing art lol
My daughter had an AI app that became a problem horrifyingly fast. For four days she faked being sick and skipping school. She spent all the time chatting with the bot, wouldn't shower or do anything but eat and chat. She is such a good girl and such a good student that it took me a few days to realize she wasn't sick, just hooked on this invisible "boyfriend". It was the first time in 16 years s…
I drive thousands of miles each year on narrow, shoulderless, two-lane highways. The thought of sharing those roads with driverless 18 wheelers makes my skin crawl.
