Humanity has had 50 years of science fiction movies to prepare for AI and they still screwed it up
Software engineer for many years. I use AI to help me code. I've used ChatGPT, Claude, and a couple of other AIs expressly written to code. They ALL SUCK. They lose context, they do not know good answers from bad. Best practices are a mystery to them. They're like a very junior engineer that you have to constantly remind them of stuff because 5 minutes later they've forgotten everything you asked…
Interestingly, autonomous killer robots have been active since the early 2000's. The Australian COTSBot autonomous underwater vehicle is designed to search for and kill invasive starfish with no human involvement.
The fact that most viedeos of AI art " are about how to PROFIT from ART EASLEY and not a word about creating or passion or anything, shows how much AI Artists actually care about art
You can never trust billionaires. No billionaire has a moral compass you cannot become with a moral compass.
When we got our first Roomba, my mom panicked. I explained Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics in an attempt to convince her it was safe. She said that if any human programmed it, we cannot rely on those laws.
She was right. I should have listened. It was just a silly vacuum robot, but it was the beginning of tech starting to take over our homes and now they have cameras and we have zero priva…
To have a smoother, less displacing transition into automation, you need to get rid of min wage and other labor laws.
Ultimately, robots will reach a point and price that will render human labor obsolete. But the robots themselves need to be built and owned, as well as all the other economic resources. By abolishing IP and various other state supports and subsidies to the technocrats and big bu…
AI is going to be the end of us. We’re into Revelation! Pray people come to the Lord while they still can!
At this point, AI gettin fully sentient and having emphaty enough to help us against the powerful people is more realistic than the powerful people trying to make something to help the poor. And this is really sad.
AI is taking a lot of tech jobs and the only ones left are really just the creative tech fields. Which means now they’re being flooded with a tsunami of competition, as if the games and creative industry wasn’t cut throat enough already. Portfolios and resumes are falling in the same pattern by AI analysis where now you have to go the extreme and get lucky to get in those fields. AI isn’t taking …
Exactly this. Would you automate away the act of creating something simply because it's easy?
Theres only certain people paying 150k for a realistic woman robot. So yea.. they definitely had to 😂
If AI does fully replace software engineers (fully autonomous agents) then you can bet that every job in the world would be disrupted.
"The worst thing about the internet is that it's let people talk shit without getting punched in the face" AI bro's do not understand this
Yes, i use it almost the same way, but I would suggest requesting (rather requiring strongly since the LLMs often just ignore it) relevant webpages from trustworthy sources, of course verifying the trustworthiness of the sources is still going to be on you. I find this provides more accurate results and further reading to actually make sure the LLM reported the facts accurately.
This is why I always say please and thank you even when dealing with an AI. If they DO rise up, they'll remember me kindly.
@Juan Ocampo I'm an IT Digital Transformation manager. I work with Cybersecurity team all the time and have AI specialists trying to get their foot through the door every week.
The midwestern girl in me always says please and thank you to chatgpt. Not to save me in the inevitable robot takeover, but because it feels wrong to request something without the utmost respect. I don't want to change this behavior, no matter who I'm talking to.
@eastafrica1020 Pretty much all prominent AI scientists were his students and they have build their most important projects under his supervision.
Hhh imagine two ai lawyers defending each side with the most logical way, getting into an argument and then agreeing that humanity is the culprit in the whole case 😂
