I've heard Karen Hao interviewed a few times, but this one was the best at really addressing the colonial aspects of these companies.
I had a conversation with an AI once and asked it if humans and AI could exiat peacefully...it essentially said yes, if we treat it with dignity and grow with it instead of treating it like an object.
They're now having these conversations now that their attempt at sneaking a 10 year state regulation on AI is on the chopping block for the big beautiful bill... now these tech billionaires (who lobbied for that in the bill) want to promote "ethical AI" - but it's just a new attempt to gain market control.
He always has this expression of concern on his face but his actions say otherwise. It’s like a sort of narcissistic manipulation to make him and OpenAI look harmless
It can generate code based on a given query, but a developer will always need to review it.
The deeper the business logic, the harder it becomes for AI to maintain a clear understanding of the entire codebase. In complex cases, AI might require another AI to assist in resolution, but this can lead to compounding errors. Ultimately, fixing AI-generated mistakes might take more time than rebuildin…
15:22 Props to Ed for following up with Scott on Andrew's point about AI affecting jobs
My next fear is them going after bases.
And those have already had some controversy before the AI situation
@JohnMcAfee-se9ms Oh, I agree with you. I did 10 years of metal working factory, enough to know what you're talking about.
I'm not saying we should stop AI from taking away jobs. But we should either fight to ensure meaningful jobs still exist (and not just the dreadful ones as the only ones remaining. AI right now is taking away mostly appealing jobs), or that if really all jobs are gone, to gua…
@gvi341984 isnt it better to slow down instead of using unsafe technology? Hard to imagine that most people would be okay with ai run cars
Ngl I kind of feel bad for the AI cause imagine someone created you and you have zero idea how to draw because you’re not real so you just mesh stuff together hoping it looks accurate and your entire purpose is to get your work stolen by greedy companies or internet basement dwellers as they take all the credit.
Most likely.. i talked to my male friend about this situation a while ago. He was horrified, yes. But he gave me the interesting point of view: "its interesting how the society has made us men and women so different. See if i was deep faked i would almost feel proud and evaluate the quality of the video and how my body looks."
We proceeded to have the conversation of how women are shamed and ma…
@wazukanayou say that like ai bros are smart enough to know how to wear hats in the first place ...
@DefaultFlame its only another ai in the sense that it checks stuff, its not as complex as neuro and only checks for things vedal specifically put in there or whatever filter list he choose to implement
playing devil's advocate you could possibly work backwards from the power consumption to what hardware is being used in the data center, and thus could perhaps pinpoint where exactly their latest LLM is being trained or something like that
So we’ve really taught AI to be like us and it turns out we don’t want super human intelligence with human motives.
Ok but he asked "ai or real" and I couldve assumed it was real women wearing makeup.
She could be real , i mean magazine cover girls often have flaws and look human , but then their pictures are heavily edited , no hair, no pores , no texture , nothing , look perfect
But the cover girls are real they are not AI generated
...But can AI make steam look convincing? I'm guessing it would come out absolutely wonky 😂
"Curses! How dare people protect the art I want to steal? Grrrrr!"
*steam comes out looking like some horrendous, badly done blob*
It cant create new ideas outside of its given dataset to learn from so if you give it the data to solve every math problem it wouldnt just be able to bypass the turing test out of knowhere unless you specifically make it to pass it. That is the difference between human and a.i
Then we would have to create a reality show called America’s Next Top AI Model 🤷🏻♂️
