Getting inspired and creating a new image with your own hands is different from typing a few words and have a machine using image databases to do all the work for you. The person using Ai to create a new image is an OPERATOR. While the person creating his/her/their own art in an ARTIST.
As a college student in normal school, I am deeply touched by Bengio's words and have seriously contemplated joining his lab, as I realize once again that AI Safety represents the most important technical challenge in human history so far.
The best way to combat AI art is knowing how traditional art by humans is made and appreciating how much work it takes to create something. I'm not an artist but I've tried a few creative things before like drawing and editing videos and that was enough for me to understand why artistic work is valuable. It's hard work! To me AI art is worthless because I know its doesn't do any of the work a hum…
I want to be a manga artist and a animator but because of ai my dream might be over
I’m disabled, and I want to help and contribute to society. But there is no way in hell AI will let me have a job, hell people won’t, because I need accommodations. So even if I got a job, I’d have to not say anything and wait to see if they would accommodate me after.
Please, can I just be an at home partner? I’d rather do domestic labour…
Edit: That said, if I could have a job, I'd want to …
Wow, that way of advertising was genius, that was good, I saw it coming but still, having chatgpt giving the ad for you was smart
Keep in mind, Waldorf schools are where thousands of Silicon Valley tech employees send their children. Waldorf schools are schools that limit technology usage by means of creating a more hands-on environment for not only young children, but middle schoolers as well.
This doesn't automatically mean Waldorf schools are better; however, it's worth noting that the people who send their children to…
Roman is just too smart for this channel. She had no idea what he’s talking about and could not relate with him at any level. He’s talking about AI taking out humanity and she’s responding with how it’s against the constitution. I also don’t think Roman is ever thinking at the level of pajama day.😂
It's because each peice wasn't made with purpose, nor do those who use generative AI care about purpose.
It also hurts to see too, because that purpose is where *REAL* creativity comes from. But people are willing to throw that away because they hate learning.
@group555_The difference is that AI is not art, not even legally is it considered art. It is incapable of producing anything original, all it can do is copy and combine aspects of the material the model was trained on, and it's pretty easy to tell.
@thecommenter90 Thank you for the inspiration, I suck at art and though people only care about the quality of an image, due to this I used to use AI for Art, I don't anymore after seeing the Demange and I still hated myself for not being able to draw well thank for that man, you're a real good person, godspeed man godspeed.
@Mel@M@MelodicTurtleMetal’re not even responding to the point she’s making. Here’s this argument recapped for you:
“Disabled people need AI to make art”
“But beethoven was a great artist and he was deaf, so you could easily make great art without it”
“You’re forgetting that all artists complaining about AI are terrible deviantart fandom artists who think their art was used in training data”
Zer…
Every single artist draws using the database that is their brain, stock full of other past artists’ styles. The difference is purely that someone coded the ai to combine them, while you learned to do it over at least a day.
Edit; this comes from someone who draws for himself.
@PrivateerPurpleCat I think another difference is that humans can create art even if it never existed but a machine can't.
Another issue is how easy it is to generate ai images. It takes an artist years of dedication to learn how to do it but with a machine it just becomes obsolete... If it ever gets to the point that ai would be able to generate any style in the quality a user wants then most a…
@Lockpick-Rogue take this with a grain of salt because i havent heavily researched this, but as of right now its only cheaper for the consumer. the reason ai art is so cheap is because ai companies and their investors are eating the costs hoping that someday this sht will be profitable, and are slowly falling appart because of it. spoiler alert, ai art is not sustainable because the power and st…
I know two things for sure: The AI will continue to become more convincing and we'll continue to move the goalpost.
and in both anyway, no they arent making the art. Else, comissioning an artist would ALSO be making art (since you effectively gave a prompt to an artist).
to be fair out of practicality i think saying "I used Ai to make this" as technically correct since there is no other human in the process, but the way i see it it makes it clear you delegated the entire creative process away from yourself
@Patti2002-b5t Yeah... That's not how training algorithms work. That's the cutesy buzzword PR stuff the marketing team feeds you to make it sound like magic.
They don't just magically stop pulling from their database of training. The way it "learns" is by copying what it has been fed with a preset amount of variation and mutation. It then takes successful pictures and keeps those in its weightin…
Its the wealthy corporations & governments point.they are using Epstein, kirk, wars and a bunch of other nonsense/propaganda to distract while they dismantle & get everything set to ruin America ruin humanity in america.pure evil, power, control. They want to use AI to experiment on humans, mix humans with robots etc.Look up brain chips. They already have people walking among us with brain chips being c…
I feel like the ONLY reason why AI still continues to gather attention from the mainstream is solely and exclusively because of corporations. There are next to no *serious* and unironic AI "Artists" out there and the vast majority of its users are simply normies seeking to makes surreal memes out of it while the few people who use AI to call themselves "artists" (I.E: Shadiversity) never cared ab…
