It's going to be an entire decade of dogshit software for sure. Ai can technically write software but it's undeniably worse in the end, especially for large complicated applications. And all this ai slop is getting pushed to GitHub so that AI is now training itself on its own shitty software.

Because that isn't how laws work for literally anything? Nothing gets legislated before it exists.

Tax breaks for billionaires at the expense of workers and water resources? What a trade-off! /s

No, you're missing the point. They are going to use the Defense Production Act to FORCE them to build the AI product without the ethics rules.

Actually - what do you mean on that front? I'm pretty sure I am going to cancel my subscription and I was thinking perhaps also best to delete the account completely after exporting any data. What benefit or downside might there be to deleting the account? (Lol, I suppose I could also ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude this question.). Thanks!

Skyrim was released on 11.11.2011, but it's included as desktop screenshot with system date set to 2010 *That was close, LLM, but no cigar*

Most people can’t get interviews, to be fair. Companies receive 10,000 AI applications a day. The world became very different like 1-2years ago. Best bet is a recruiter.

As a junior(with 2yoe, so not a complete newbie, but still a newbie), I can see that claude is good for a lot of small bugfixes, sometimes great at figuring out the State flow in react etc. We use Typescript Node for be and React for FE. Claude is quite good at smaller tasks without heavy context. And there are quite a few tasks like that, no one gives juniors some complex work most of the time.

I've actually been quite optimistic about AI, but I think Max and Yoshua had strong arguments.

The company Envato recently started leaning heavily towards AI. First they declared that all portfolios that exist on their platform now belong to the company, and started training AI to generate commercial work that original artists will not be compensated for, or even offered the option to opt out of having their work trained. To save space for AI content, they limited the human artist ability …

Let me guess, this was because of Shadiversity's video on AI, isn't it? Not complaining, the guy clearly deserves to be made fun of after spending an entire video self-jerking while trying desperately to convince people that asking an AI to generate a bunch of prompts and then edit them slightly on photoshop requires actual artistic talent.

Just turn off "improve this model for others" in your data privacy, Or alternately - just use local models hosted on your own computer. Super simple solutions. AI is an incredible resource for self-coaching and therapeutic support if used well. Hard disagree with this take.

The problem with AI is that sooner or later a true AI (artificial lifeform)will arrive and the AI may at some point be the bad actor. That's what intellectuals are concerned about. Imagine something exponentially smarter and faster than the smartest human with instant access to all the data in the world.

We should stop misslabeling ChatGPT as an AI and start calling it was it really is: A Language Model.

Automation under capitalism literally hurts the most vulnerable people in any field. So until we achieve communism A.I. art is awful and should be Opt In.

I was planning to leave Deviantart after being there for fifteen years, good thing my gallery was already cleared out in 2021 before the AI announcement. Seeing this was a final straw as I'm deactivating my account in January and moving to other sites(Inkblot, Tumblr, etc.) so I can finally move on. I wanted to give my watchers a chance to see my links to other sites and say goodbye before leavin…
