I was told I’m being laid off, I’m not sure if I was laid off because of AI, but I’m certain that it’s becoming harder to get hired due to AI. AI auto rejects many applications
Way too many people don’t understand that AI is not mixing and matching what has been typed into it. Training means something far more complex.
They all say things like "it actually take a lot of effort to get the prompts right and get what you actually want!!" yeah like isn't that what customers do when commissioning arts? They went through a lot of brief and specifications to get what they want except instead of ordering human artist its AI generator.
It still hasn't really backfired. This is a small amount of money for Tesla, and the general public still eats up the idea that we should have internet-connected self-driving cars
I used to like watching Dr. Eric Berg as a young adolescent. I came back to see he puts in AI images/videos every 0.5 seconds into his talk. And that he isn’t an actual doctor; he’s a chiropractor. I was very disappointed
@TerryAVanguard That's kind of the problem though, people who use Ai art aren't actually creating anything. You may get results that are unconventional, but it's not aesthetic material that has artistic intent or invokes a specific kind of meaning.
Creating art is a process that involves making consecutive choices and decisions, which is not really something you are doing when typing in a ser…
A well known at the time portrait artist also had no arms by birth and drew with a brush attached to her shoulder. Can't recall her name rn but her story is very heartbreaking from being sold to a freak show to being picked up by nobles and finally being recognized.
Also... it just doesn't feel artistic when you get ai to do it for you either? wtf you mean access, it just doesn't feel the same ei…
@benmlee Don't try to think if you are not used to it, you may hurt yourself.
Especially with how many movies we've made about "How bad AI is." It will know to just, not seem conscious.
Agree that *Deeply concerned* is a stretch, but policy-making often looks very far ahead - China's expansionist trend and increasing militarisation, would definitely be accounted for, in the future
Worst case scenario also includes corrective rape. There are too many risks to just hand wave it as a 'summer camp'.
Leo jets around on private planes constantly, tours for weeks on huge yachts, and keeps 5 homes around the world (with staff, landscaping, heating, cooling, etc. etc.)
Sacrifices are for others I guess. Not him.
Literally UBI. Billionaires got half a trillion dollars richer during the same period.
Take that money and give it to the people.
But why is this an issue? When google assistant came out it couldn't understand my accent at all, now it can. What was this woman complaining about? That the product wasn't skipping 5 years of development automatically? Seems totally unreasonable.
The world’s always been inhospitable lol. It didn’t just start to happen. We’re living in a small sliver of time (relatively speaking) where our species can thrive
It's not replacing a therapist. If you don't have access to a therapist then you have no therapy currently. So if AI is moving into that space then the comparison needs to be "is this better than nothing?"
What we're currently calling AI an not really AI in the generally-used sense of the term. Machine learning is essentially software that is working with patterns based on the data used to train it. The current stream of AI tools is not at all working towards sentience or self-awareness. AI in the current context is basically a marketing term for machine learning.
Yup. My grandmother barely understands how video filters works and we are expecting them to not get tricked by AI.
If you want trump to ban ai just upload a crap ton of AI vids of him and Putin.
Boom. Ai banned cuz his feelings are hurt
That's because it doesn't have context length yet. They're doubling that every 7 months. I'm not trying to be that AI guy but this is the worst it will ever get, implementation takes 2 years minimum and there's a direct path to making these things smarter.
Will AI kill engineering? No. Will it completely undermine a classically high paying field? Completely
