The reason the 40k stuff was taken down was the author not marking most of it as AI voice and pretending in the comments (and being very cagey) about whether or not it was Sir David
And now he’s gone and completely screwed everyone else over as AI voice narrations are gonna finally get scrutinized
AI will have to be integrated with robots to be able to do manual labour. In which case you'd need people for mantainence and development.
In the future, there will be less viable jobs. This will even out by decrease in global population. Survival of the fittest, only rich people will have children and pass their heritage.
Just don't have children unless you have wealth saved up which is enoug…
Your reaction is luddite demagoguery.
Needed and necessary aren't even particularly useful terms for an advanced technological society.
How many of our modern industries and jobs are needed and necessary?
The premise that humans won't have any role in a society with true general AI (which is still very much a future speculative concept) is unfounded.
Our society will be whatever we create i…
I dunno man the only real existential threat I see is from letting the military get automated. The military should stay mainly human. As long as humans have control of the guns the existential threats of AI is pretty minimal. It will cause a lot of more minor problems, and also provide a lot of positives
Then lay some of them out. Nukes are not controlled digitally. You still need the keys and the 8 didget codes. Are the ai going to take over telslas and start killing people with them? Industrial robots are bolted down. Drones cans cause some mayhem sure. But a reaper has what 4 misses each? I'm not too worried about a nuclear meltdown either. Some of those things run on shit that would make you …
All my non-trchnical friends say these types of things. I’ve been using AI for a bit and my job is one of the last ones it’ll take. AI is a lot better at language and normal “human” stuff than it is at coding imo. It’ll take the president’s job before mine.
You don’t think so? AI doesn’t have to be good, it just has to be better than the worst and it will take jobs. I guess it isn’t just AI but humans + AI as there is a lot of massaging with AI currently. That still affects a lot of jobs. Companies with a lot of money will use AI and companies without money will continue to outsource.
It worked today, but will that same strategy be effective in n 5 years when I'm able to make any movie I want with AI?
Ah yes, how could they be entitled as to not want years of hard work to be ripped away by the corporate machine so they can shit out ai “art”.
I mean the government can just making AI use illegal. Problem solved.
Edit - Since it’s not obvious /s
So in your robot dream utopia - robots will start a war and kill a lot of humans in the name of an unachievable ideals. Great plan it is not.
>no, because none of my tasks are defined inputs, my manager would just tell me to add this new feature or fix this bug, exactly HOW to do that is something I need to figure out, good luck trying to ChatGPT that
This is a really ignorant and self-inflated take. If you don't think you can get GPT to come up with something usable with loose requirements, then BOY, do I have some bad news for y…
What *don't* writers condemn? Every time i hear from an author they are either pissing and moaning or trying to sell me something.
also for the severely reading challenged (ironic, i know, for a topic about books), the startup is intending to use AI for things like proofreading and such rather than to actually write the books.
it’s written by AI, op is not real, just anti google propaganda from some competitor
Did you create this post because you needed a dopamine hit? There is no fundamental leap forward millions of jobs are not gonna get automated away. Automated systems are getting incrementally better. That’s all there are more important things in the world to worry about.
99% of AI is left leaning, US government want to have right leaning AI, reddit
> So weird thought time.
So weird indeed.
(The missing comma changes the meaning, in case that's not clear.)
> The aliens find a computer or phone and they are able to get it working and access chatgpt 4o.
And ChatGPT is running where, exactly?
> What do you say about the human race? As a whole
Did you just put a question mark in the middle of a sentence?

My job doesn't exist because of AI, but MY job exists because of it. I don't know half the shit that's required of me, but with AI I can handle all the work easily
We are not curbed by faux-green warriors who rage against nuclear power in favor of fossil fuels.
I do look at the real world. In the real world mathematicians do not use anthropic because it's crap. just look at [https://github.com/teorth/erdosproblems/wiki/AI-contributions-to-Erd%C5%91s-problems](https://github.com/teorth/erdosproblems/wiki/AI-contributions-to-Erd%C5%91s-problems)
