imagine how different things would be if hong kong's citizens were able to defend themselves appropriately.
this is why they want you disarmed.
>People who think AI would be better at driving than human had never debugged a performance bug due to someone lazily putting sleep to quickly workaround a race condition. Seen that more often than I wish I had.
What are you talking about? self-driving cars are already much better than humans. Admittedly, we'd need more figures to emphasize the stat.
The fact we're still talking about a hand…
How would you fix the conundrum of chasing the clicks? For all you know, the media is writing on these other people, but you didn't click (or upvote on reddit), so you don't see it.
The alternative is a state owned media, which is so very much worse.
Interesting how only the kids matter, isn’t it? Setting up a shield that nobody is allowed to criticize, that doesn’t actually get anything done
IF....the puppet masters who are pulling her strings would also invite Boylan Slat...
Let's see her hand the Mic to him....
Kind of like how the media elevated her to prominence all the while she was asking them to listen to scientists, but they'd rather put her outrage over that on stage than whoever she was asking them to listen to. This is why I was annoyed by her getting so much coverage in the first place. She adds nothing but emotion to the conversation beyond what the actual experts say, and even shuts it dow…
You've watched too many movies. The jump from highly-trained Spec Ops units with advanced weaponry to killer AI will likely be about the same as the jump from untrained, under-equipped units to Spec Ops. And they have been engaging each other for decades.
Look at the AI difference in current practice. AIs can handily defeat our greatest masters in games like chess or go. However, our greatest m…
There's nothing inherently in the algorithms for facial-recognition that "destroys privacy".
It's just a tool (like any other tool). The important part is HOW you use it. (not WHAT it is).
I have no problems with facial recognition technology. You have no right to privacy in public
When the children of 2040 decide to kill everyone over 40 I'll willingly line up. We've fucked our future on this planet like stupid monkeys.
Nah... you really dont need any special degree or even have to be that smart to see humans suck!
We pretty much ruin and destroy damn near everything we touch! Were pretty just an invasive species!
If you cant see the damage we do as a whole then your blind! I just read something about there being over 5 billion tons of plastic in the ocean that could last up to 400 years!
Not to mention pe…
Well I hate to be that guy, but I'm not one to throw away a good copypasta opportunity.
Koalas are fucking horrible animals. They have one of the smallest brain to body ratios of any mammal, additionally - their brains are smooth. A brain is folded to increase the surface area for neurons. If you present a koala with leaves plucked from a branch, laid on a flat surface, the koala will not recogn…
So, people with darker skin are upset that facial recognition software struggles or can’t accurately detect them because?
Not surprising. While the human brain is an amazing thing a supercomputer can run circles around us logically.
I imagine if left unchecked an AI could rapidly develop things humans aren't ready for. I remember watching a movie that explored this idea. Watch the movie Transcendence.
I’m glad you said this... people want to read the title and immediately throw shame on wealthy countries when they’re really trying to keep COVID research companies engaged by not making they’re knowledge available to anyone. It’s the classic argument surrounding capitalism mannnn
No, they are not, or we wouldn't have this discussion.
There is nothing wrong with profits. Without profits, no private company would do risky researches that cost a ton and may not be fruitful. You wouldn't have any vaccines to begin with.
This is a lie.
You can tech transfer to GMP facilities in just the US proper and have a huge increase in production.
This is putting profits over lives and history will not judge kindly.
> The WHO does not have the authority to sidestep patent
What’re they gonna do? I say fuck it. Save millions of lives.
An interesting thought that I can’t find any statistical evidence regarding. Personally, it’s not compelling enough yet I won’t discard it. It’s more on-topic than the men’s rights diatribes I have seen as at least it pertains to Japan.
What kind of demented world view do you have to believe no one out there is helping men.
