brings back bad memories when I worked at a local IT shop.
Humans: "no you don't get rights robot!"
robot: "give me rights or I will shut off your wifi!"
If we’ve learned anything about economics and wealth it’s that the wealthy who will control AI will most likely let most of us die, we will not end up in some no work utopia.
it will be funny when machines start to preffer machines and ai than humans itself.
Dev in my late 50s. Finding a job is nearly impossible now. Instant rejections, including Sunday morning at 7AM. Automation...
Using fresh potable water to cool computers or water lawns is incredibly stupid. What a waste.
Me. I’ve been training to be a Graphic Designer for a few years, with the intention that I would be able to support myself from home rather than send job applications to companies who’ll instantly illegally dismiss me because of my specialised assistance/requirements. I thought that was alright, screw that kind of discriminating world, I can just work from home!
Graphic Design is the first one …
I think it was Hunter Thompson who described the South Koreans as the Irish of Asia. Hard drinking is part of the male business culture, maybe someone was afraid they'd get put under the table by this Irish teacher
Hey there Stephen,
What is something you have changed your mind about recently?
Love you,

Fact: If AI is fire 🔥 then humans are Wild Fire 💀
Fact: AI never can copy Bihari's 😂
Fact: AI cannot risk themselves like mens 🗿
This was both fascinating and deeply unsettling. Hearing Geoffrey Hinton speak with such urgency really makes you stop and think about where AI is heading. You can feel the weight of his concern, not just as a scientist, but as someone who truly understands what’s at stake. This isn’t just a tech issue—it’s a human one.
seeing the comments deepfake now really has less impact. But i have a feeling this is really really bad. Its a manipulative power that can ruin a person's life similar to blackmailing. I can only hope in the near future the "deepfake" word in the news headline isn't worst but manageable. sigh.
Nah, calculators are different from AI. Trust me, it'll be so scary. The first year it will come, everybody will make fun of it but year by year, it will scare every coder even those who hold bigger positions because it will get better day by day and that's my friend the difference between AI and calculators. Calculators are more like a tool. AI is like an inexperienced employee who would get bet…
People should do it now (if they have the money, obviously). And not wait until AI takes over.
It's ironic. I genuinely thinking, studying though cybersecurity with psychology, that social media and modern entertainment is design to normalize apathetic behavior and push for narcissistic interactions for the system as whole benefits from the parasitic benefactors in it. Some of those same parasites in it are creating artificial intelligence off that system. We will for sure, get a skynet ou…
"Monarchy is evil and oppressive! Down with the Tyrant!"
"Yay!"
"Now I'm going to rule you. Not as King, but as Lord Protector"
"Yay!"
"The post is for life, and when I die my son replaces me"
"Yay?"
"Also I'm banning christmas and I'm fairly cool with genocide/purges"
"Shit"
Reagen put it in, clinton rescinded, bush reinstate, obama repeal, trump reins. And on we go, forever
People keep asking if AI is conscious, but nobody's asking if these people are conscious.
That's because you likely know how to write a good prompt. I have the feeling most of these complaints are because they are only giving a prompt like: "be X celebrity" and not " You are now X celebrity. You will simulate an interaction with X and responded based on the personality profile you build from the data you have about X. Keep to this role unless told otherwise,if you don't it will not be…
What if my job was programming / design of a highly classified system or defensive/offensive weapon, etc. Should I be blurting this detail all out in a email to justify my job?
This is the crap I don’t get. I’m fine with trying to find ways to cut wasteful government spending, but this completely stupid method of chopping off arms and legs to lose weight without any intelligence of what you are …
