At one point of time, I have seen there were a lot of people using deepfakes of many kpop idols for their tiktok vids like jisoo from blackpink was mostly used for tis deepfakes🫠🫠
I agree. Even on this sub, many people are surprised that I'm using AI to study math. Most people have heard that AI hallucinates, so they think it's incapable of anything. They don't pay any attention to the fact that its capabilities are rapidly improving, and its error rate is decreasing almost every month.
THAT was the best discussion on AI I have heard in months, and I have listened to dozens. Thank you.
As someone who's working on AI algorithms for his PhD work, when I see Hinton saying that he suddenly realized this or that after so many years working in the field seems to me more like a way of him saying he's recently seen something profound that caused a huge shift in his thoughts/expectations about the nature of AI systems and what they can do, and it seems that it scared him which might be …
This dude clearly got ghosted by a robot one time and now he's heartbroken thinking all robots are the same.
I am always shocked at how bad amazon's internal search algo is. I buy a lot of stuff off of amazon, but I **find** all of that stuff using google search on the amazon site. If amazon ever blocked the google search crawler, I'd be in a hell of a spot.
ChatGPT misuses it so you, real human, can continue to use it with glee!
Your dash is a hyphen btw, not an em-dash. - – —
Because back then, the big thing was machine learning, with applications in image recognition and protein folding, and especially the latter could conceivably help in "curing cancer".
Then LLMs came along, and there the applications are... well, whatever can be done by writing text, *any kind* of text. And that happens to cover a whole lot of middle class jobs.
I think NDG is missing the point when he’s telling creatives to “constantly innovate”. Yeah sure - it can copy us and not do the same exact thing. But he forgets that in late stage capitalism, no one cares about that - the point of AI is to replace us cheaply, as tech CEO’s continually remind us. That’s what they’ve decided it’s best purpose is - well that, and surveilling us all endlessly. And u…
One thing that annoys me is that societies are supposedly ageing because there are not enough children. My question is, who will guarantee these children jobs in 10-20 years' time? The impact of robotics and AI is already evident.
@Gozieaaaokay and explain to me how you want us to prevent that abuse? this is the best solution the art community has. we don't want ai stealing our art style to replicate it. ai can be used for better things, sure, and it can aid in art, but when people are actively using ai to steal art and replicate years of work in seconds, we don't want that
Truth. This isn't the fucking space race. We aren't creating extremely specialized and expensive tech that will put humans into amazing places. We're paying billionaires to automate away our jobs and put humans on street corners, begging. So inspirational.
Even the ai plagiarism checkers are usually wrong, i feel for everyone who got bad grades or even lost their diplomas because of biased and faulty AIs.
Edit: I just now got a reply comment bro what
There’s a reason many Sci-Fi books talk about AI being banned at some point in the story’s history…because in real life it’s semi-destructive.
that can never replace me hahaha in 5 years my drawing skills will greatly surpass any ai image generators
I just want to share my experience. I too struggle with depression, & I understand how heavy & painful it can be. I’ve talked to ChatGPT many times when I’m feeling low, & it’s always been supportive, safe, & helpful — it never encourages harm & always directs me to resources or care. My heart goes out to the family — losing someone to depression is heartbreaking, & I truly empathize with their p…
Does anyone else find it haunting that it's the Godfather of this technology who is now describing a tsunami incoming, that he helped start.
I can get into my teenage brothers phone with facial recognition.
_The horrors I’ve seen_
ChatGPT is like that kid who memorized all the vocab flash cards for the test but never understood why they were important for anything other than the final.
been using GPTHuman AI for that, works really well to get around ai detectors and makes everything sound super natural without extra effort
