IMO 1) that implies it's solely "AI bros" (whatever that means) that say this, and 2) ignores that not all disabilities manifest themselves in the same way, are of the same kind, nor necessarily manifest themselves the same way amongst 2 people who might have the same sort of ailment, and 3) seems to fail to consider that maybe there were obstacles that were overcome that can be made easier to overcme.
That doesn't mean there aren't bunk reasons to say this aids people, just that those reasons don't make the whole idea of it being helpful bunk.
