@misticair which is WHY i love ai art that allows for reference and not all that other stuff since you can't name all the bad things ai art has been used for since... either its theft or its some really unspeakable stuff. but heres the thing. gatekeeping art isn't how you get people to love or enjoy art. art is formed from passion, from love, is created from emotion. ai art, yes, doesn't have any or that usually which is the thing your ignoring. that can be used and manipulated to create and provide a traced base for real art. like, lets say you want to get the art style your favorite artist has. you have far more limitations compared to IF ai art is used, as ai art can create a reference and assume what is meant to be there. humans can do that indeed, but not all the time can someone perfectly imagine that art piece so sometime has to refer to a image, similar to how some painters need to see their reference as they start painting or how some people need to listen to music to get ideas to make their own. and, for how soulless most ai art on its own is, probably would be perfect for some companies anyways, although it would be easier to get an artist to do it unless you can't afford it. which brings back the gatekeeping issue of art. (you get angry over tracing, people not being able to afford the art, and people using ai art. what about that is supposed to get people to want to get into art themselves? ai art can be a start to the inspiration of being able to create art and yes, people will be using it for wrong in which its a matter of time before laws are created. but if you are pissed over it, be honest with me. you posted your work online and i get that you wish to have privacy to that art, but the moment you post something online to be remembered, that post is what makes that moment slowly become bigger than you are. it hurts but think about every single game, every single company, EVERYTHING that exists. it feels bad but truth be told, one thing social media should have taught you is that you should have kept that talent to you so it says your art. the only way you'll be able to defend it is if you come back with a lawsuit and be able to defend it. https://news.artnet.com/art-world/artists-vs-stability-ai-lawsuit-moves-ahead-2524849#:~:text=The%20positive%20step%20comes%20more,copyright%20and%20unfair%20competition%20laws. also probably its unlikely much can be done unless the social media platforms themself go for ai. unlikely since things like chat gpt exists, a ton of websites are starting to add in ai into them, not to mention some ai companies argue that the database they are collecting is public and even a human can do it too. they are just doing it on a mass scale.) your arguing on morality here, not logic.
