I am against AI art, but this "stealing" argument can't be used because we as artists are also "stealing" from those who inspire us. We're doing the same as AI, only less effective, because we are, of course, not machines.
This problem is, as you said, serious, but if "stealing" is our only argument, then we might as well give up right now.
