This is like arguing about the technicallity of communication.
I could tell you that accidentally having your leg fall out of your bed isnt communication, and a lot of people like you would reply with a 5 page thesis, sumamrized as "well theres no such thing as accidental in the grand scheme of things, also putting my leg out is communicating because I am communicating that I am tired or asleep. It also works when im asleep because my brain is technically active, etc, etc, etc".

It is not conscious, because it cannot think. It is not creative, because then everything would be, which is not a useful definition.
