It really doesn't matter though. FSD is still based on only cameras, it's just as flawed. It doesn't matter that it uses a more advanced machine learning model. Cameras lack depth sensing, and they can't see well in bad weather or at night. It' a recipe for disaster, and clearly the MLEs in tesla are too afraid to tell elon that this is physically impossible. I say this as someone with a master in data science who is an MLE. Image recognition like this women said is flawed. You need lidar for 3d mapping. Lidar doesn't need to classify an object in the road, it just senses an obstacle, which the model would interpret as I need to stop. This is why Waymos have become very good. So good, that I will take never take an uber/lyft again. Any decent MLE will agree.
