So what do artists typically charge now of days,.more so, what do AI generators usually charge for what they think something like that "looks" Haven't been in the art market for about a decade, plan on going back in but know my quality is both commission quality as well as better than anything AI generators think looks good. (Despite even the "best" looking AI junk looks terrible to an artist who overly examines every single interaction and pixel in an image. That isn't even going over the obvious negatives and things to look down upon with it.) I know art, quality, etc..isnt "fixed" but how does one who has never really dives into the art market besides dipping their toes here and there, know how to price their work? Someone whose quality might actually be higher than most, as well as the time it takes to create into account. Idk. It's like, I'm afraid, I don't wanna feel "ripped off" for what I provide vs what compensation I'm actually given, but I also don't wanna push people away by pricing things too high by being a "nobody" who just appears asking for at least 1000$usd per illustration. A decade ago I used to sell headshot illustrations for 50$ and still felt like I was underpricing, clients felt the same and would tip me the same amount I asked for pay, so like instead of 50$ they'd give me 100$ it was very kind. Now I feel anything I'd charge would be too little. So now I'm in a non stagnating loop skill wise of just improving my skills and creating what I want in any capacity, but stagnating financially and socially. I make art but never get paid, I don't like making free art for others, etc. my own art as is takes weeks at the least to make one illustration, not wasting my time on that. Ill happily spend years on one illustration at times. I have two separate ones that if compiled Together are 2 years and 1 and a half year. The 2 year drawing was difficult and I was struggling, I did it first, fanart. The second 1 and a half year drawing I didn't struggle at all, I flowed into it and it was even more breathtaking than the first one. It was a personal project, not fanart, more like my "soul structure"
