This is a dumb, yet extremely common, form of sophistry used against deployed autonomy.
I also didn't sign up to be on the road with rednecks' monster trucks who achieve "safety" via enormous mass and a bumper that's at the same height as my head in a sedan. Or, a child's head on a crosswalk.
Because, you know why? We don't all get to approve/reject each others' vehicles.
If you want to argue that Tesla should be better about publicly sharing safety statistics on their autonomous cars, and IF those statistics show significantly worse safety performance, then use that to push for specific regulation. "I didn't sign up for ..." is irrelevant. This is a big, stupid country full of idiots doing harmful things to one another. I didn't sign up for that, either, but we live in a society.
