Ultimately, much of these regulations are not enforceable. I can run AI software as they can run any other software (ignoring GPU farms that will probably not be necessary with better software... ;) ) ..and you can't stop the proliferation of software. Likewise, information can be collected and acted upon as is done now with the internet and peoples efforts to scrape data. Licensing applies to the law abiding people of certain nations and not private or secret use. So.. that's limiting only to good people. Perhaps big companies that may be considered to be providers of truth are the meat of the problem... Hmm... Looks like we have the same issue we have now: more than one reputable big business asserting political slants as the one truth, AI or not. In the face of this, licensing and preventative regulation might be a bad idea in general. Individuals should not fear putting together their own AI-conversations/chat on whatever data they collected with intellectual property laws still applicable. Noting the source of information is what people are supposed to do (otherwise it is wrong to call your self a journalist, BTFW). Authorship and source claims are now more important than ever regardless of AI, so.. this nation is in dire need of a conversation on freedom of speech and media irresponsibility/inappropriateness (..the ongoing political hell that news stations are pumping in the USA). Perhaps, correspondingly, written works can more easily be compared via AI; seeking truth in people claims as to the source of a work, AI and/or human generated.
