Precisely what everyone would have said a few years ago. But now that they unlocked this reasoning capabilities with GPT-4 I don't feel as optimistic that it's just machine learning. Another 2-3 advances on visual/audio inputs and they might be closer than anyone thinks. I just hope it back-fires sooner than later and it get's stopped until more research is done on the interpretability side of things.
