A universal income after AI and humanoids take our jobs may sound good in theory especially since people will have no money to acquire due to the lack of jobs but the likelihood of it happening is slim. Chances are, corporations will have already made enough money to relocate and move on to customers who still have actual income, leaving everyone else out to dry. It could end up being just a bunch of rich people doing business with one another. Hotels will move, restaurants and fast food chains will follow, real estate will foreclose on homes, and businesses will declare bankruptcy using their remaining resources to build a society for themselves, possibly with a universal income area only for the rich. If they don’t care about employees and ordinary people now, even with all the money they have, what makes us think they’ll want to save us after making the ultimate move of replacing us after we helped them develop the AI and humanoid technology in the first place?
