The three most important questions….
Is it known/obvious/aware of, is it reachable with a locked seatbelt tensioner, and does the heat from the fire expand and make the mechanism non functional.
The video talks about logs, but an important thing to note is, malfunctioning software does not record logs while it is malfunctioning. A flight data recorder does not need anything from the aircraft to record the data. From other comments it sounds like the Tesla version of that is not separate and has a tendency to blame the user for malfunction.
Brakes, Door Locks, and steering should all have manual automatic overrides. Not just a manual override. Sensing fire is actually something we can do electronically without fail. Sensing heart rates is also something we can do without fail, and cheaply. Sensing impact, and so on. If all these conditions happen at once, unlatch the door and push it away with an electromagnet and lock the mechanism open so it cannot relatch.
