@natzbarney4504an international ban will never happen so theres no point in wishing for it, the same way an international effort to go green never happened, half of the world ignored it and those that tried just ended up exporting their emissions to the half that ignored it. It made no difference, they just had propaganda talking points because a wide proportion of people are too busy or sont care enough to find out whats really happening. It crushed our manufacturing, so we exported that manufacturing to places like china, and then we shipped the goods half way around the world back to us, so we created more emissions by trying to go green. This is exactly the same thing that will happen with AI. We will crush ourselves trying to ban it and then force ourselves to buy goods off those who didnt ban it because it would be the only way to survive economically.
AI is happening and no matter how much people panic about it there is nothing you can do to stop it.
