Also as an aside, from what I've learned your efforts to stop the AI *aren't* fruitless, but there is some small truth to what the AI advocates have said - the whole "it's been stolen already" notion holds some water in that there are immutable models and checkpoints out there that have already been trained on untainted art, and they would not change even with the addition of poisoned art (btw I find the methodology you use fascinating). Rather, what you're doing is poisoning the well of *future* model creation, and driving a spike into the ladder of forward progress for the programs. It would, and I think there's real value in this, make it so that AI art *stays* recognizable, and doesn't overcome some of those hurdles like you pointed out with the rabbit and his buttons (that is IF it can overcome those hurdles at all... the program isn't really *thinking* - AI doesn't *think* about anything thusfar really, it just lies about it very convincingly - about how the buttons are wrong, it just was asked to find a vest with 'buttons' and went 'buttons... hmmm those are kinda roundish blobs right? what material did they ask for? brass? so sort of yellow, got it...' It didn't think about 'how many buttons does a vest have? where do they go? what do they look like?' or anything of that sort. It just squinted hard enough until it could 'see' a rabbit in a vest.) Given the political landscape right now, I think we *need* this kind of efforts to be made to maintain actual ability to detect AI generated content with the naked eye. Can/are/will there be tools to detect such chicanery now/in the future? Sure, but will granny pull out her phone and scan a video, image, text, etc. to see if it's AI made before making snap judgements? No way. The only way we can really expect people like that to be able to detect the falsehood and work around it is with the same old thing that makes the uncanny valley happen - intuition. AI art, even if it's helped me here or there, almost always rings hollow because there *is* something just naturally wrong with it, a wonky finger, a strange button placement, comically too many limbs, sometimes subtle, sometimes unmissable... but it's almost always there and it detracts from it for me. I don't always *know* something is AI made, but I can usually guess. TLDR, mad props to your work, even as someone who occasionally has a program make me an image, I for one have no ill will towards what you're doing and think it's pretty impressive.
