@dr.zoidberg8666 I agree that if we're flipping a coin on extinction, we probably shouldn't do it, but I feel like everyone is being too nihilistic. Yes, we can't control it, but we will probably find a "silver-bullet" to alignment. We have about 5-10 years before AGI gets created and we always find a way. Billions are being poured into AI alignment because we understand the risks of not doing that. Humans are biological meant to always see things as turning out as the worst possible outcome, but the truth is, we don't live in the worst timeline. It will most definitely get better, it always does.
