Well said. You are 100 percent correct it should be opt-in by default. On top of that, any company profiting on ai art models should be funding art programs and scholarships as well as coming up with ways to pay people directly who are being affected by it like you. If an artists name/style is used as a prompt that artist should get compensated. Hopefully new systems/image formats can be created to track the providence of images in order to ensure artists get compensated for their work and people who try to skirt the system can be penalized in ways that discourage the behavior you’ve mentioned. Keep fighting the good fight.
