@labreynth your mostly right abotu the red hat thing. there is a bridge betweent a word and an image. we humans call that a thing so ya semantics. but to say that it will just reporduce the same thing it was trained on is very short sighted. to stick with the red hat, a model might see a couple hundred thousand red hats... so with no other descriptor how does it chose? randomly? ya ish. it takes parts of the "red hat" and mixes all the ones it "thinks" are red hats and gives you a conglomeration of them. so you say the person running the ai program isnt producing anyhting just becasue they dont make the phisical hand movements requiered to draw that image? so does that mean skrillix isnt a musicion since he dosent phisicly play all his samples with phisical instroments in the order of his arangements? i wouldnt think you would. you see i would totally agree with you if it wernt for one thing.... without that prompt and the indivigual entering its thoughts feelings and so on the ai program cant do anything. that being said... we can both agree that an ai art image is a combination of many images that the composer tells the program to meld together right? so ethics aside ya that art isnt alone the person beind the keyboard... but they did compose that image. if you denie that than i think there are alot of peole in orcatras and such that would like to have a word with you. artest is probably the wron term for some one who makes ai art, composer i beleave would be a better word. becasue that is what they are doing. there composing the image not drawing or any of that....
