Also, unless you can find a published update from TESLA claiming that their update MAKES IT LEGAL for you to touch your phone while you're driving, it's an unfair implication of Tesla to conflate your personal choice to illegally use your phone when driving with an official blessing from Tesla to break the local laws. TESLA simply seems to have decided not to actively encourage you to DISENGAGE FSD before doing so. Just because it may have backed off from nagging you to the point that you TURN OFF full self-driving when you're using your phone, it's still YOUR responsibility if you choose to break the law. That should be obvious to everybody! What you are observing is only a relaxation of its self-imposed conditions for instigating FSD nags as they determine that some of those nags cause more danger by causing a "criminal" to turn off FSD to use their phone rather than providing a safety net to protect not only them but any car that they might run into if they intentionally turn off FSD in order to text (again, illegally). How many non-Teslas stop you from texting while you drive? It's not Tesla's job to make sure that you obey the law... They are just trying to make things safer for everybody, even in the situations where the driver chooses to disobey the law. For that matter, you may want to be careful making these videos on public roads because you MAY be providing enough evidence to be held accountable for your decisions to engage in illegal acts AFTER the fact... I know you probably share my personal position that it's not Tesla's responsibility to keep you from making criminal choices (15:00) and that Tesla is simply trying to mitigate the potentially deadly repercussions that often result when people inevitably DO choose to break their local laws... but it's important your viewers don't confuse the freedom to CHOOSE to break the law with a free pass to thumb their noses at their local traffic laws! By the way, thank you for your videos - they are much appreciated! Just be careful how you frame your conclusions - because I'm sure you don't want to screw over Tesla in their efforts to add safety to our roads!
