@a@alaughingfreak867e idea that someone has an “obligation” to “disclose” that the use AI in your workflow and that NOT doing so is “scamming”…. Is an idea you made up. People have had “secret recipes” for…forever. And if you “strongly felt” that Auntie Wallace had a “responsibility” to disclose how she made her secret spaghetti sauce recipe or she was doing something “unethical”…. …you would just be wrong. Who made you God to start handing out moral imperatives? Who showed up and told you that we have a “moral obligation” to tell anyone how we make anything? I am a real estate photographer. Now you may not think that that’s not really a place where AI is used…but I use it all the time to clone out trash cans and other nonsense just left out all over the place that look unkempt. Do I have an obligation to “disclose” that I used Ai to remove stuff in the photo? If you say “yes”…then you’re both being dogmatic and being ridiculous at the same time. Oh wait. But let me guess. “That’s different”. Right? That’s just “little stuff”. Really? I also take photographs of pets and put them through an ai generator to transform them into watercolor paintings. Do I now have an obligation to tell people how I do what I do? Maybe I have to tell them what Ai tool I use too and what prompt so that someone can copy my exact workflow too? No. No no no. People have had secret recipes and thousands of years and they had no obligation to tell anyone the “secret” of how they do what they do…and they don’t have any obligation to do so today just because someone invented a new technology and a crowd of people feel threatened by it. Your fears do not mean I get assigned new moral obligations I never agreed a to.
