@user-mm5cd4kv2t Yes, LLMs are machine learning but not all machine learning is an LLM, that's my argument not a contradiction. LLMs are not inherently generative either but that's a different conversation.
When someone uses machine learning to detect patterns for their research they are not using chatgpt. Generative LLMS are deeply unreliable for research, as you claim to be a researcher I hope you would know that.
You don't use machine learning to conduct a meta-analysis of papers in the field for you, it wouldn't be good at that and you'd lose necessary clarity. You'd use specialized machine learning models to flag patterns within datasets.
