Ahh geez I’m scared to reply to someone this famous but I’d like to argue that artists definitely aren’t behaving like 70 year olds about it. Your dad’s generation wasn’t having their hard work and jobs stolen when they had to switch to some new tech. AI could displace millions of people and jobs- if it gets too out of hand it could erase foundational principles of art itself, stuff we’ve been developing literally for centuries. AI doesn’t know color theory or advanced composition- if AI ever replaces art then we would lose every intellectually stimulating aspect of visual study- people have no idea how much goes into making something beautiful. No other technological revolution has been that much of a threat to human culture before.
