And ultimately... If an AI can talk to humans, then it _does_ have physical access to the world, through humans. Years ago there were debates about whether it was possible to keep a superintelligent AI trapped in a box. They all concluded that it would ultimately be let out. Now those debates seem quaint, because we are rushing as fast as possible to connect AI systems to the internet and give them physical tools, before we know the full extent of their capabilities and proclivities.
