@allyiahdarling i keep getting put in the “anti human artists” category for saying what i’m about to say but. “theft” just isn’t the right word for what’s happening. the AI models that’s been featured are creating completely new images. we could say it’s unethical (which the examples of this video i would argue that it is) but “theft” isn’t accurate. artist should be compensated for their work & their additions to a model in some way. but at a certain point it becomes very blurry who actually owns the final image.
ai replacing humans has always been a depressing thing, history tells us we can’t just make it go away. i just think it’s more productive to discuss it in depth, discuss why it’s unethical & how to make it more ethical.
