Train humans not machines!
Thank you for bringing up the theft of apprenticeship opportunities and reduction in senior-to-junior mentorship relationships.
If companies can hire cheap AI that can do, say, a 65% level of quality in comparison with a human apprentice then why train new humans to do anything? And how do humans get skilled without financially-supported opportunities to hone their craft?
Think about those police cadets who used to have to learn to write coherent narratives about what happened on their beats? The discipline develop skills in that part of their work (i.e., telling a true, coherent story about how/why they applied the law) is just never going to be developed.
So in 10 years the workforce will consist of people who never got mentored into their jobs, because AI took all the developmental positions. /smh
