@ReallyJustMe20 I think there's a bit of a miscommunication on my end. My point is that someone who devotes time to pursuing what they perceive as art should be correct in their self-labeling as an "artist," since art is subjective. Additionally, I feel that for a lot of people, the idea of art being generated by machines is just a shitty feeling, so they then define art in a way that they wouldn't previously just so they can artificially exclude ai art.
We can have the perspective that AI art isn't art that's as worthy of praise as a hand-drawn portrait. That's totally OK. The problem is when some people act like what is and isn't art is a settled debate the second they see art that is of a category they don't like- such as modern sculptures, absurdism, photography and now AI art.
