@jonw7214 If you watch what Elon Musk has to say on the impact of AI & robotics, and I don't necessarily agree with him, he thinks there will be a universal high income. So he's implying that everybody will have a high level of income, jobs will be optional for those who want to do them. He likens it to growing vegetables in your garden. It's not necessary for your survival, but some people still choose to do it.
In short, he envisages AI & robotics solving societal inequality. Because people can no longer be exploited for their labour, inequality will no longer exist.
