I think you're on to something with mistakes being a constituting modality of intelligence. Within human and neural networking learning processes, mistakes certainly are needed for learning to happen. But also in developed intelligence systems, mistakes are the discerning factor of contrast. Science relies on the principle of falsifiability. And many more examples. Interesting and important aspect for the AI discussion, gave me some food for thought surely, thanks!
