I think the push for autonomous trucks may be in response to a few different reasons:
1) High Turnover Rate/Instability among drivers
2) National shortage of drivers
3) Emergence of new technology that has made autonomy possible which means an untapped market for new, daring businesses
I still think it’s going to take 10+ years for us to start seeing fully autonomous trucks on the road but... there’s no way to tell for sure
