I'm not convinced that most artists really do dislike generative A.I. Based on what I've seen online, I'd be willing to believe that a majority of professional (and aspiring professional) artists don't like it because it has the potential to hurt their bottom line, but I'm not aware of any polls that have been done of the other 99% of artists who paint, draw, sculpt, etc. on their own time that shows how they feel about it. And given the massive, widespread appeal it clearly has based on the many millions of requests it gets each day, I suspect that the overwhelming majority of artists have no issue with the technology.
