They dont actually. They expect to live and do what they love. There is a fundamental difference between making money out of doing what you love so you can live, and choosing to do a job in the hope you can get rich.

Uhm, I dont think only specific things need protection. I think that if an action is fundamentally human, then it should be protected from such things.
But on the topic of the automation of utilitarian tasks, I think that in those cases we should enter into things like experimenting with UBI, taxing automation so we can use get the money to support the UBI, reducing the duration of the work week and work day(preferably to a 4 day work week, with 7 hours work day at the beginning), reducing the age of retirement, etc.
