​​@Kerbeygripso there are always going to be people whose lives have been made exponentially easier because the modern world provides lots of conveniences. For example, a kid might grow up knowing that the AC filter needs to be changed every month, or that something needs to go back into the fridge but they might grow up not knowing why. Why do you have to change the air filter? Because I was told too. This applies to tech, people might not understand why they need to close out of programs/apps , they are doing it because they are told too. This is ignorance-- you don't know that which you don't know. I don't think that is the person's fault. It's just that things change, common knowledge to one generation becomes esoteric mumbo jumbo to another. That is not the people in either generations fault. Today, in our world, it's convenient to not do research. Thinking is hard. We've made convenience available to any and every one in most aspects of life (in developed countries). People what to ask a search engine a question and the first video that they find will be their answer for that question. I don't think an ignorant person would even know what question to ask. My mom(a high school English teacher) says : the difference between stupid and ignorance;ignorance is unaware that they are in the dark and stupid knows they are in the dark and tries to perform surgery anyway. All the more reason to encourage each other to think critically and to question even the things that people just tell you do and think. I would rather contend with misinformation than to hand over our freedom to speak and create content to a small group of people that control what we are allowed to say, make and hear! That sounds like a really bad idea and I was very surprised by how many people want to give their right to free speech over ai slob. Like ...what the hell? That's a major red flag.
