i'm talking about "disinformation" not only in terms of artistic use but also in a broader sense. yes, the internet in general has a problem with this but AI has led to platforms being flooded with it (compounded by zuck's recent decision to halt fact-checking on facebook)
that much aside, there's a need for transparency because of erasure, as i say at the start.
as far as i'm concerned, using people's names in generators and not citing them is akin to plagiarism and any companies profiting off this tech have a moral obligation to conduct themselves a certain way.
said watermarks don't need to be put there by the consumer but they should be forced on the distributors (stablediffusion, etc) at which point the consumer can go to the trouble of removing it if it's really worth it to them.
