​@conit4125 If all you really want is to be able to show someone a picture and say, "Look, I've thought about something like this", then sure, use AI. I think this is fundamentally something people frame incorrectly in these discussions; if your whole point is not that you wish to be someone who makes art, but to just be someone who now has a thing, then sure, use whatever means. If it's for your personal use, if you have no pretensions it somehow makes you a talented artist, do whatever you like. Alternatively, if you have the money, commission an artist. This has traditionally been what people with no skill to express themselves (sufficiently for their desires) or desire to acquire such skill have done, and it will support someone who has made it their calling. Point is, nobody is saying you're not allowed to have a picture. The conversation around AI art is a conversation of what it is to be an artists, and in fact of how being an artist *is* about the process; the focus on just an end product is a really frustrating way to frame the debate, and a fundamental misunderstanding of what art is. For artists, the struggle *is* the thing, and much of the satisfaction is in being able to work their craft, to engage in the creative process. The things that come out are a crystallization of the process, not the sole focus of it. It's a bit like with sports; people don't go into sports just because they wanted to win the championship (well of course some do; those people wash out quickly enough, unless they realize they find joy in the process itself). They go because for a variety of reasons, that is what they feel they wish, or must, do, and the struggle is worth it and meaningful. Many can't do that, and focus on something else instead. So... yes. If you want to just have pictures that depict your inner world, rather than create them by honing a skill and engaging in a creative craft, and you in fact detest the latter, then absolutely, just drop all aspirations for art and do better things with your time. Life's short, enjoy it. If AI is sufficient to do that, then great. Immersing in things that make you feel good is good. Simply, be open and honest with yourself, and acknowledge that art (the creative process of artistry) is not something you care about, and you're simply desiring images through whatever means. Do this, and you will be able to be intellectually honest and cognitively harmonious and live a less fraught life chasing things you don't truly see the value in.
