@harrietjameson I apologize for my poor wording choices. AI is indeed a tool. A highly complex converter between word, concept, and image. It is an imperfect tool. I can not claim ownership of the art the AI generates. In that we agree. I claim ownership of the future sculpting/editing I use to better perfect my vision. As for your claim/question that I see artists as tools. You are, in a round about way, correct. Every artist is a tool for one purpose or another. Sometimes it is their own, other times to a greater or lesser purpose. Artists are often a tool for humanity to experience more in life, whether directly or sympathetically. By making a commission, you use an artist as a tool to put form to your imagination. When you receive the work, it is yours, though you did not directly create it. If you were to use it to create something else similar, that would be your own. Little has changed. We simply have a more efficient, but significantly inferior, tool to give our ideas form. This is what I tried to convey in my earlier message, but it is clear my wording was poorly constructed.
