@sethtenrec The fact that they let this buggy software out into the wild, recklessly allowing people to be led astray, is reprehensible. A couple months ago, I noticed ChatGPT was averse to swearing. So I asked it for the first line of a song (System of a Down, Kill Rock & Roll: “So I felt like the biggest asshole”). Anyone can look it up easily. It outright lied to me, giving me something completely different; can’t remember what it was. I corrected it, and it apologized for being wrong and explained that it’s “always learning”. I asked the same question and got another wrong line. What? Can’t get info because of someone’s idea of censorship? Another problem is that plenty of naive people are now relying on AI to give them real information, and even make decisions based on it. And what about the day when you start up the internet and all you get is an AI window, and you have no recourse to verify what it tells you? That’s a realistic future, and a worrisome one. I don’t enjoy being lied to for any reason, but maybe you don’t have a problem with it.
