My observation is that independent artists may get attention for the aesthetic quality of their style, but they get patrons for being appealing as a person. The passion expressed through their art is only an indirect extension of that. AI could never replace it.
Business owners don't care though. None of that matters for a corporate artist if you're in a bad business. Some of them drop employees just because investors like the idea of reduced labor costs with no decrease in productivity.
